MIAO, 17 Apr: Villagers of Motongsa, New Longchong and Old Longchong benefitted from free health camps organised at the three villages in Changlang district on Monday by the Miao battalion of the Assam Rifles (AR), as part of its ‘military civic programme’.
The objective of the camps was to provide medical care, medical advice and reference for specialised treatment and surgery.
Apart from providing medical assistance, the medical team imparted basic knowledge on health education, including about precautions against common diseases. The team also elaborated on the significance of hygiene and sanitation.
Altogether 110 villagers, comprising 34 women, 36 men and 40 children with different ailments benefitted from the free medical camps.
The residents of the three backward villages requested the AR officers to conduct such free health camps in their villages at regular intervals.
