ITANAGAR, 20 Apr: The officers and staff of the economics & statistics directorate here on Thursday deeply mourned the demise of Honi Yak, who was serving as a peon (MTS) in the department.
Yak died on 19 April at her private residence in Itanagar after battling cancer for a year.
The officers and staff observed two minutes’ silence as a mark of respect for the departed soul.
Economics & Statistics Director Bebing Megu in a condolence message recalled late Yak as “a sincere and dedicated employee who was also humble, soft-spoken, kind-hearted and a generous person loved by all.”
Born to late Honi Hage and late Honi Yama on 15 September, 1975, Yak had done her schooling from the government higher secondary school in Raga.
She had joined the department in December 1999 as a peon and served it for 23 years.
She is survived by a daughter and a son.
The officers and staff conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
