Blame game over highway project will serve no purpose

It seems the blame game between the Itanagar district administration and M/s TK Engineering & Consortium Pvt Ltd has started over the construction of Package B of the ongoing four-lane NH 415 project. Itanagar Capital Region DC Talo Potom in a letter to the construction agency M/s TK Engineering & Consortium Pvt Ltd alleged that it failed to achieve any major progress, and added that the condition of the road has worsened. TK Engineering maintained that it is working hard to achieve the target and that the work has been affected by the slow pace of shifting of utilities from the RoW.

Instead of indulging in a public blame game like this, the district administration and the construction company should find out a way to work together. The condition of the road in this particular stretch has worsened. There is an urgent need for repairing and maintenance. The heavy monsoon showers have further made the road worse. The people of the ICR are suffering a lot. The heavy traffic jams and poor road conditions have made life miserable for the denizens. It is time both the DA and construction company sat down and chalked out a strategy to speed up the work. Indulging in a public blame game in the media will not solve the problem. Only by sitting across the table, identifying the areas which are causing slow progress of work, and working to find solutions to it will help to speed up the project.
