77th Independence Day celebrated with great enthusiasm across Arunachal

ITANAGAR, 16 Aug: The 77th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and various activities across Arunachal Pradesh on 15 August.

Joining the Independence day celebration at Wakro general ground in Lohit district, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein highlighted the ongoing infrastructure projects, including road connectivity enhancements with a budget Rs 15 crore( approx).

“The government’s commitment to public welfare and services were evident through advancements in the health and education sectors,” Mein said adding that  ongoing upgrading works of health and wellness centres in Medo, Karhe, Manthi and Kathan showcased the state’s emphasis on public health.

Furthermore, educational strides like the establishment of the Eklavya Model Residential School in Medo were highlighted as part of the drive towards educational excellence.

DCM also elaborated on various initiatives of the government for enhancing farming practices and productivity.  The benefit of schemes like the Prime Minister’s Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, Mission Organic Value Chain Development Programme and Atma Nirbhar Krishi Yojana were acknowledged for driving rural prosperity, he said.

Mein also distributed tractors to 11 beneficiaries under the transformative “Atma Nirbhar Krishi Yojana,” aiming to empower farmers and promote rural economic development to mark the occasion. This was followed by the distribution of prizes, mementos and certificates to the best deserving public servants and progressive farmers of the area.

Mein inaugurated important infrastructure projects including the new PWD sub-division office building and ADC office building. Mein applauded the rural works department of Namsai division for completing the ADC office building within a record 15-month duration, before the scheduled two years’ time.

In Yupia (Papum Pare), deputy commissioner Cheechung Chukhu hoisted the national flag.

Addressing the gathering, Chukhu gave a clarion call to the public, civil societies, NGOs and the student communities to strengthen the fight against the drug menace. He stated that “If not controlled the drug menace would destroy the younger generation.”

The DC also highlighted the development activities undertaken by various departments.

In Pasighat, Pasighat East MLA Kaling Moyong hoisted the national tricolor.

In his speech, Moyong said that all central and state sponsored flagship programs were being implemented in true spirit. He called upon all government functionaries to work with full commitment in order to provide an efficient, people-friendly, transparent and accountable administration.

In Mebo,  MLA Lombo Tayeng hoisted the tricolor.

In Ruksin, MLA Ninong Ering hoisted the national flag at the general ground.

The MLA, in his address, briefed about the various ongoing developmental works and achievement in the subdivision.

In Ziro (Lower Subansiri district), local MLA and agriculture minister Tage Taki unfurled the national flag at Padi Yubbe Outdoor Stadium.

In his speech, Taki said agriculture and allied sectors will bolster the state economy and usher in new economic prosperity to people of the state. Taki informed that total food grain production had touched 519,121 metric tons last year.

“Also, 21 state-of-the-art soil testing laboratories were established to provide farmers with accurate insights into their soil conditions,” he said and added that to bolster agricultural landscape, expansion of the oil palm sector covering 5,600 hectares has also been undertaken. The minister highlighted the achievements  under  farmers-related schemes and  achievements of  schemes under  veterinary and animal husbandry  and fisheries departments.  He also highlighted the recent developments in the district.

In Bomdila (West Kameng), MLA Dongru Siongju unfurled the national flag at Buddha stadium.  He highlighted the developmental activities under his constituency on the occasion.

In Koloriang (Kurung Kumey), MLA Lokam Tassar unfurled the national flag in presence of deputy commissioner Bengia Nighee, other government officers, GBs and general public. MLA highlighted the importance of grass root level democracy and effective public service delivery system.

In Aalo (West Siang), the Independence Day was celebrated with pomp and gaiety at general ground of GHSS.

MLA   Kento Jini, in his speech, said that during the last four years, West Siang has developed in every aspects and the four-lanning of Aalo township is one of them.

The Yeggo switchyard, transmission wing of the power department in West Siang district, Aalo, also celebrated the Independence Day. The oldest W/C staff of the department Ganga Prasad unfurled the national flag in presence of all the staff.

In Daporijo (Upper Subansiri), MLA Taniya Soki  hoisted the national flag.

Highlighting the significance of recent MoU on 12 hydro power projects signed by central and state governments, Soki said, “many job opportunities will be generated, especially for the unemployed youth in the district, after the hydropower project implementation.”

He informed that government is already working on the projects like Mebigeko to Gerukhamukh road,   and revival of hydro power project.

In Nacho, local MLA Nakap Nalo, who is also tourism  minister, unfurled the national flag and in Taliha, MLA Nyato Dukam unfurled the flag in presence of public and  government officials.

In Dumporijo, MLA Rode Bui unfurled the national flag, while in Taksing, CO Taso Duri unfurled the national flag in presence of Indian army, ITBP jawans and other security personnel.

In Boleng (Siang) MLA Ojing Tasing unfurled the tricolor at general ground in presence of government officers, GBs, students and public. In his speech, MLA highlighted the government’s welfare schemes and overall developments activities in the district.

In Pangin, ADC Gyabo Pertin unfurled the national tricolor at the general ground.

In Tirap, the Independence Day was celebrated in all administrative headquarters as well as in all panchayat blocks with joy and enthusiasm.

In Khonsa, MLA Wanglam Sawin highlighted the achievements in every field under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in centre and Chief Minister Pema Khandu in state. He also highlighted the development activities under his constituency.

In Khonsa ZPC’s office, Chathong Lowang unfurled the national flag.

In Deomali, DoTCL minister Wangki Lowang unfurled the national flag in presence of government officers, chiefs, GBs and members of general public.

Highlighting the development activities, he urged the public to avail benefits of Atma-Nibhar schemes for self-sufficiency. Lowang appealed to the youths to keep away from drugs and advised the society to fight against drug menace and peddlers.

Lazu ZPM Rangmo Ranto unfurled the national tricolour at Lazu EAC Hq. He appealed to the youth not to consume opium and drugs.

At Borduria, MLA Wanglin Lowangdong unfurled the national flag at circle headquarters ground.  Lowangdong said, “Peace is the prerequisite for development of every society for which every individual will have to fight together against anti-social elements.” He highlighted the ongoing development activities in various sectors under his constituency.

At Dadam, MLA Chakat Aboh hoisted the national flag. Soha GPC Wabon Ramwa hoisted the national flag at Soha circle headquarters.

At Bari-Basip circle headquarter ground, ZPM Tediap Hallang unfurled the national tricolor.

Independence Day was celebrated with gaiety and patriotic fervour across Namsai district.

In Namsai headquarters, MLA Chau Zingnu Namchoom hoisted the national flag.

Speaking on the occasion, Namchoom spelt out the major initiatives taken up under the current government for wellbeing and welfare of the people and the state.

In Lekang circle, MLA Jummum Ete Deori spoke in detail about the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Har Ghar Tiranga and the Meri Mati Mera Desh campaign.

I-Day was also celebrated in Chongkham, Lathao and Piyong circles.

In Changlang (Changlang district), the Independence Day was celebrated in a befitting manner.  On the occasion, deputy speaker Tesam Pongte said that BJP government is always committed for the welfare of public. He urged the public to avail the benefit of government schemes.

In Wakka SDO Hq (Longding), RWD minister Honchun Ngandam highlighted the all-round development activities under PM Narendra Modi and CM Pema Khandu on the occasion of Independence Day. He appealed to the people  to work in unison for the peace, progress and prosperity of the area.

In Tawang district, the national flag was unfurled in all the administrative and border outposts.

In district headquarters Tawang, MLA Tsering Tashi unfurled the national tricolor.

He lauded the role being played by Women’s Welfare Association of Tawang in spreading awareness on plastic waste management and other issues. He also commended the members of district student’s union for their active role in spreading awareness and helping security personnel by providing important inputs about drug peddlers and users. He appealed to the youths to stay away from drugs and other anti social activities and requested parents to be vigilant on activities and friends circle of their children.

In Lungla headquarters, MLA Tsering Lhamu unfurled the national flag, while Tawang ZPC Leki Gombu unfurled the national tricolor at Jang headquarters.

The Day was celebrated in all administrative hqtrs of  Leparada district with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm.

In Basar, MLA Gokar Basar unfurled the national flag at Todak Basar Stadium in presence of government officers, PR leaders, GBs and general public.

The celebration also included felicitation of families of unsung heroes, issue of certificates to new GBs, felicitation of district performers-2023.

In Dari, ZPC Nyabi Dirchi unfurled the national flag at general ground, New Dari.

In Sago, GPC Kengo Basar unfurled the national flag at the Sago general ground and former ZPM Bajap Jilen hoisted the national flag in Tirbin.

In Anini (Dibang Valley), MLA Mopi Mihu highlighted the remarkable achievements in Dibang Valley over the years. “One of the most notable achievements is the completion of 154 kilometers of national highways, making transportation more accessible and efficient for the community,” he said and added that a substantial 50 kilometers of the Indo-China Border road has been successfully completed, enhancing connectivity and security in the region.

In Yingkiong (Upper Siang), health and family welfare minister Alo Libang hoisted the national flag at general ground in presence of former chief minister Gegong Apang, government officers and huge gatherings of general public.

In his address, Libang highlighted the innumerable developments undertaken in Upper Siang district and called upon all denizens to work in unison for better development of the district, state and nation as a whole.

In Mariyang, MLA Kanggong Taku unfurled the national flag.

At Tuting, ADC Starlie Jamoh hoisted the national flag on the occasion of 77th Independence Day.

Independence Day was celebrated at the Gauhati High Court, Itanagar Permanent Bench in Yupia. Justice Nelson Sailo hoisted the tricolor in presence of Justice Nani Tagia and other dignitaries.

Rajiv Gandhi Govt. Polytechnic College celebrated the I-Day with patriotic song and poem recitation,   performed by the college students. Former college principal Dr. A K Tripathy and incumbent  principal Taba Tath spoke on the significance of independence and motivated the students to serve mankind with true spirit and save the youth from any kind of addiction.

In Pasighat, MLA Kaling Moyong unfurled the tricolour at Pasighat stadium in presence of officials of district administration, head of offices and senior citizens.

Pasighat West MLA and former union minister Ninong Ering unfurled the national flag in at Ruksin in presence of administrative officers, government officials, public leaders and students.

On the occasion, 29 unsung heroes of the freedom movement were honored and ‘State Government Citation’ presented to their dependents (nominees).

Kendriya Vidyalaya in Pasighat also celebrated the day with hoisting of national flag in school premises and patriotic dance and songs, performed by the students.

Independence Day was also celebrated at Guardian Angel School in Itanagar with much enthusiasm.

In Kamle, MLA Tarin Dakpe unfurled the national flag at general ground, Raga in presence of DC Adong Pertin, SP, PRIs, HoDs, teachers, students and GBs.

The MLA informed that Middle Subansiri (Kamle) Hydro Electric Project has been finalized and the work will start soon. He also informed that the government has prepared the DPR for East-West Corridor, which will connect Pasighat to Balemu. “This will act as an economic corridor and will usher in industrial development in the state,” the MLA added.
