MARIYANG, 5 Sep: A three-day block-level orientation programme on ‘Localisation of Sustainable Development Goals (LSDG)’ was inaugurated here in Upper Siang district by Mopom ZPM Nano Moyong on Tuesday.
Addressing the 85 participating members of the LSDG Committee, Moyong stressed on the importance of such programmes, and said that, “unless the local self-government is aware, implementation of any government schemes is a distant dream.”
He requested the participating GPCs and GPMs to “deliver your duties with utmost dedication and sincerity.”
SIRD&PR Assistant Director SW Bagang highlighted the “role of the panchayat leaders and GP-level LSDG Committee in attaining the LSDG within the timeframe set by the ministry.”
Mopom CO Jyoti Borang advised the participants to “avail of the training, which reaches the doorsteps from state capital, which saves huge expenditures on transportation and other accommodation-related matters if invited to Itanagar.”
Experts from line departments like women & child development, PHE, and education apprised the participants of the activities of their respective departments.
