DULIAJAN, 24 Oct: After nearly 60 hours, the uncontrolled flow of fluid (mainly water) from shut-in well NHK-67 near Duliajan in Assam was capped successfully on Sunday by the in-house crisis management team, with support from various other departments of OIL.
Earlier, miscreants had completely cut the entire Xmass tree above the adapter of OIL’s Well No NHK-67 near Duliajan, leading to uncontrolled flow of well fluids, mainly water, from the well head.
The incident had been reported at around 9:30 pm on 19 October.
An in-house, on-site task force was coordinating the activities on the ground to control the water flow, cap and restore the well, in close coordination with the local authority.
