KANUBARI, 7 Mar: Local MLA Gabriel D Wangsu inaugurated 57 projects, including an ‘open gym’, implemented by different departments of Kanubari subdivision in Longding district on Thursday.
The MLA inaugurated 27 projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission, five projects under the Arunachal Jal Sankalp, seven school and community halls constructed by the PWD, eight Panchayat Bhavan-cum-Common Service Centres, five projects of the power department, three of the RWD, two of the urban development & housing department, and one of the rural development department.
Wangsu said that “the government is determined to make each and every individual reap the benefits of developmental schemes.”
Commending the PHE&WS department for completing the projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission, the MLA emphasised on protection of the catchment areas and maintenance of the water source for future use.
He advised everyone to “take ownership of any infrastructure made by the government and look after the maintenance and operation of the same, instead of expecting from the government.”
Highlighting the need for improving the education scenario in the subdivision, Wangsu called for strengthening the school management committees and assured to make adequate numbers of teachers and furniture available in the schools.
In the run-up to the upcoming elections, he urged everyone to follow the election protocols and cooperate with the officials on duty to ensure peaceful, free and fair elections.
