BOMDILA, 15 Apr: Matters related to installation of CCTV cameras at vulnerable polling stations, vehicle inspections by flying squads and static surveillance teams, and checking of driving licences to prevent misuse of vehicles were discussed during a meeting at the circuit house here in West Kameng district last Saturday.
During the meeting, which was convened by general observer (GO) Sajjan R and expenditure observer Tarun Khushwaha with the election agents of various political parties, issues such as voter registration, missing names from electoral roll, deceased or relocated voters still listed, and cases of multiple EPICs were also discussed.
Vigilance around the contesting candidates’ residences near polling stations was emphasised to deter mass gatherings.
The GO highlighted the collaborative efforts of the district and the police administrations to ensure a fair electoral process, and urged the parties to “support these efforts and refrain from spreading unfounded rumours.” (DIPRO)
