MLA inaugurates Nabam Runghi Cricket Ground

ITANAGAR, 21 Feb: Doimukh MLA Nabam Vivek inaugurated the Nabam Runghi Cricket Ground in Bormai village in Taraso circle of Papum Pare district on 18 February, in the presence of Papum Pare District Cricket Association president Pada Camdir Teli and its secretary Nabam Guniya.

The cricket ground was constructed with funds provided by Vivek from his MLA Local Area Development Fund.

The land was donated by Nabam Runghi prior to his death.

Vivek, who is also the secretary of the Arunachal Cricket Association (ACA), assured the Papum Pare District Cricket Association and the ground management to allocate more funds for further development of the ground.

He said that various BCCI tournaments, like the Ranji Trophy, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Vijay Hazare Trophy, CK Naidu Trophy, Cooch Behar Trophy, etc, could be organised on the ground in the future.

Later, the MLA, along with GBs, panchayat leaders and executive members of the district cricket associations of Papum Pare and Upper Subansiri planted tree saplings around the ground.
