Speaker hails ASVS’ efforts in shaping education

CHANGLANG, 13 Jun: Legislative Assembly Speaker Tesam Pongte hailed the Arunachal Shiksha Vikas Samiti’s (ASVS) efforts in shaping education through a blend of traditional Indian values and modern teaching techniques.

Addressing the valedictory function of a nine days long ‘teachers’ orientation camp and shishu vatikaprashikshan varg’ at Shree Rangfran Vidya Niketan here on Thursday, the speaker expressed appreciation for the relentless commitment shown by teachers, and reminded the gathering of Changlang’s pioneering legacy in teacher training, pointing out that “the region has been nurturing educators since even before the establishment of District Institutes of Education and Training.”

He also emphasized the transformative power of education in nation-building and encouraged teachers to act as torchbearers of integrity, culture, and patriotism.

The camp, organized by the ASVS, was aimed at nurturing the skills, values, and pedagogical approaches of teachers from across Arunachal Pradesh.

The teachers’ orientation camp and shishu vatikaprashikshan varg, held from 5-13 June, served as a transformational platform for teachers representing Vidya Niketans, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas, and Eklavya Model Residential Schools across diverse districts of Arunachal Pradesh, the ASVS informed in a release.

“The meticulously designed sessions covered a broad spectrum of areas crucial to early childhood care and education, foundations of shishu vatika (pre-primary) education, play-based learning methods and experiential teaching tools, classroom discipline with compassion and purpose, moral and cultural education, child psychology, and age-appropriate content delivery,” it said.

The camp was led by Arunachal Pradesh Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Commission member Dr Joram Aniya, Vidya Bharati Northeast training in-charge Dharmadev Brahmachari, Vidya Bharati Shishu Vatika pramukh Anand Sutradhar, and Vidya Bharatin Nagaland prant sangatah mantri Pankaj Sinha.

The camp created a nurturing environment where interactive sessions, group activities, practical demonstrations, and value education exercises were combined with cultural evenings.

The valedictory function ended with distribution of certificates to the participating teachers by Pongte.
