Editor,

I wish to draw attention to a matter that has been troubling many APPSC aspirants.

Recently, the APPSC started releasing the marks statement and cut-off marks of examinations that it has conducted. While this is welcome, it also raises a serious question: what is the point of releasing marks after so many months? For instance, it recently released the marks of the DIET lecturer examination, which it had conducted in November last year. Shouldn’t the commission release the marks of every candidate within a month after declaration of final results, so that even if there are any discrepancies found, candidates could challenge them in time?

The UPSC, which conducts examinations for lakhs of candidates across the country, manages to release preliminary, mains, and interview marks within a month of the results’ declaration. In contrast, the APPSC, which handles a far smaller number of candidates, has still not released the marks for the recently conducted APPSCCE 2024. Many of us have written multiple letters to the commission, filed RTI applicatons, and even visited the APPSC office several times, but all our efforts have received no response.

This delay not only affects transparency but also damages the credibility of the examination process. Through this letter, I humbly request the governor and the chief minister to kindly intervene and direct the commission to release the marks of the prelims, mains, and interview of APPSCCE 2024 without further delay. This will restore trust and give clarity to hundreds of aspirants who have been waiting for months.
