ITANAGAR, 14 Jan: The Governor’s Secretariat here on Wednesday organized a kite festival as part of the Makar Sankranti celebration.
Governor K.T Parnaik and a number of people along with senior officials participated in the festival.
Kite flying, observed across many regions during Makar Sankranti, holds deep cultural and symbolic significance. It marks the sun’s northward journey, symbolizing renewal, gratitude, and new beginnings.
Beyond its cultural importance, the event also highlighted the social value of shared celebrations. It encouraged outdoor recreation, especially among the youth, promoting physical activity, community bonding, and healthy social interaction. (Lok Bhavan)
