ITANAGAR, 14 Jan: An inter-departmental meeting was held on Tuesday to discuss measures for streamlining and strengthening the functioning of the Sports Authority of Arunachal (SAA).
The discussions primarily focused on aligning the operational roles and responsibilities of the SAA in accordance with the ‘Allocation of Business and the Memorandum and Articles of Association of SAA’.
SAA chairman John Neelam, who chaired the meeting, emphasized the need for clear functional demarcation, institutional coordination, and adherence to established statutory provisions to ensure efficiency, transparency, and effective service delivery in the sports sector.
“Proper alignment with the ‘Allocation of Business’ would help avoid overlap, enhance accountability, and accelerate decision-making processes,” he said.
Director of sports Tadar Apa, director of youth affairs Ramesh Linggi and director of Sports Authority of Arunachal Gumnya Karbak shared their views and suggestions on improving inter-departmental coordination, rationalizing administrative processes, and strengthening institutional mechanisms for the promotion of sports and youth development in the state.
