DIBRUGARH, 24 Feb: Oil India Rural Development Society (OIRDS), under the aegis of Oil India Limited (OIL), hosted the annual ‘Meet the farmers’ programme for 2025 at Gethupathar here in Assam last Friday.

Senior officials from OIL, OIRDS, and the agriculture department of Assam, along with representatives from 12 adopted pathar parichalona samitis (PPSs) from Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, and Sivsagar districts who were supported for sali and rabi cultivation, attended the event.

The event served as an interactive platform for farmers to engage with OIRDS teams and agricultural experts on key topics, such as sustainable farming practices and advanced technologies.

Lakhimi PPS, Gethupathar, Naharkatia, won the award for the highest sali production, Boragadhoi PPS in Chabua was recognised for outstanding rabi production. Other participating PPSs also recorded impressive yields and were presented with certificates of appreciation.

Farmers also shared their success stories, acknowledging the comprehensive support provided by OIL, including hands-on training by technical experts from the agriculture department of Assam.
