PASIGHAT, 26 Mar: Jawaharlal Nehru College(JNC) here in East Siang district, through its Entrepreneurship Development Cell, and in collaboration with its Internal Quality Assurance Cell, organised an entrepreneurship development programme titled ‘Sustainable business plan competition 2026’ here on Thursday.
The programme witnessed active participation of heads of departments of various disciplines, including botany, Hindi, education, chemistry, geography, and economics.
Speaking as the resource person, APU Commerce HoD Dr Rajen Miwu said that “today’s youths must become job creators by utilising local resources and adopting sustainable business ideas.”
The programme was conducted under the guidance and JNC Principal Dr Gindu Borang and Vice Principal Dr Leki Sitang.
The programme was attended by JNU Commerce HoD Agin Taboh, IQAC coordinator Dr DP Panda, Dr Manjung Mossang, Dr Liha Mena, coordinator Nang Rasami Thamoung, and deputy coordinator Dr Minam Yomso.
Addressing the gathering, coordinator Thamoung highlighted the objective of the programme, stating that “the initiative aims to develop an entrepreneurial mindset among students by providing practical exposure to business planning and encouraging innovative thinking.”
She added that “such programmes are essential to equip students with confidence, communication skills, and the ability to face real market challenges.”
Dr Tatum Mibang and Nong Tayeng noted that “entrepreneurship education bridges the gap between classroom learning and real-world application,” while Dr DP Panda appreciated the initiative and remarked that “such platforms are vital for fostering creativity, innovation, and self-reliance among students.”
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation and positive feedback, reinforcing the importance of entrepreneurship education in shaping future careers.
