27,000 thermal-screened at Ruksin
RUKSIN, May 12: A high-level committee led by Lok Sabha MP Tapir Gao visited the Arunachal-Assam boundary here in East Siang district on Tuesday and reviewed the steps being taken to deal with Covid-19.
Other members of the committee included Pasighat West MLA Ninong Ering, Pasighat East MLA Kaling Moyong, East Siang DC Kinny Singh, SP Rajiv Ranjan Singh, and Ruksin ADC Kabit Apang.
“Ruksin is vulnerable as it is the gateway to many districts, like Siang, East Siang, Upper Siang, West Siang, Lower Dibang Valley, etc,” Gao said, and emphasized on ensuring constant vigil at the check gate to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the state.
Commending the hard work of all stakeholders, including administrative officials, police personnel, doctors and paramedical staff, in the fight against the pandemic, Gao and the two MLAs appealed to the people of the state to follow the SOPs framed by the government to deal with the prevailing situation.
The committee also inspected the fogging, disinfection and sanitization system here and the swab collection and quarantine centres set up by the district administration at Ruksin and nearby Sille-Oyan.
Ruksin screening in-charge, Dr Kadum Jonnom, informed that after the imposition of the second phase of the lockdown, more than 27,000 persons have been screened, 851 samples have been collected, and more than 800 persons have been advised quarantine, including home quarantine.
“There is not a single case of coronavirus positive reported,” he added.
Meanwhile, a source in the DC office informed that altogether 113 persons had been released from quarantine till 3 pm of Tuesday. (DIPRO)
