DOIMUKH, Jun 14: A 17-year-old boy reportedly drowned in the Pare river near here on Saturday afternoon.
According to a police source, the boy had gone to the Nonpu picnic spot area on Saturday afternoon, along with his sisters and friends, for swimming. The family of the teenager informed the police about his drowning.
At the time of filing this report, a team comprising Papum Pare police and NDRF personnel was carrying out a search operation on boats. Members of the boy’s family have also joined the search.
The police here appealed to the people living along the banks of the Pare river from Doimukh to Bihpuria to inform them if the body is spotted in their locality.
