4th Late Jomin Tayeng felicitation programme
BIZARI, Dec 21: Laptops and certificates were awarded to meritorious students of Class X and XII of Dambuk constituency during the 4th Late Jomin Tayeng felicitation programme organized at the government secondary school here in Lower Dibang Valley district on Thursday.
Earlier in the programme, Education Minister Honchun Ngandam, WRD Parliamentary Secretary Gum Tayeng, Deputy Commissioner Mitali Namchoom, Dambuk ADC Atul Tayeng and members of late Tayeng’s family paid floral tributes to the portrait of late Jomin Tayeng.
Addressing the gathering, Ngandam said education “is the mechanism to change one’s life and society” and urged the students to “adopt the ideas and principles of late Tayeng for a better academic career.”
He also advised the teaching community to be more dedicated and work with missionary zeal.
The DC recalled late Tayeng as “an inspiration who overcame difficult circumstances in his life to become an IAS officer.”
She advised the students to always strive for excellence in all spheres of their lives.
