ITANAGAR, Jan 5: Mechuka (West Siang)-based Boh Ramo Bokar (Adi) Elite Society (BRBES) has appealed to the State Election Commission to re-conduct the panchayat revision of the newly bifurcated/delimited panchayat block in the 33rd Mechukha assembly constituency for enrollment of left-out voters.
In its representation, the BRBES said that people of the panchayat segment were unaware of the panchayat’s bifurcation or delimitation as the department concerned did not properly inform the people about the revision process which was done within a short period of time.
During the panchayat revision most of the college and university students and others could not enroll their names in the panchayat electoral roll due to examinations or being unaware of the revision, it said.
It urged the EC to ensure cent per cent enrollment of voters in the new panchayat election roll.
