ITANAGAR, Jan 5: Governor Dr BD Mishra and Chief Minister Pema Khandu in separate messages on Friday greeted the people of the state on the occasion of Si Donyi festival.
In his message, the governor said that Si-Donyi festival plays a significant role in defining the strong bond between nature and people.
‘I join my Tagin brethren in offering prayers to the almighty Si Donyi and seek blessings for peace, harmony, good harvest, good health, and good luck for each one of us,’ the governor said.
Pema in his message said: ‘Ours is a distinct state with several tribes and communities residing side by side for ages and maintaining their own unique indigenous culture and traditions. Despite our varied diversity, the Arunachalees are united and take pride in our indigenous cultural heritage.
This cultural mosaic has to be maintained, preserved and propagated at all costs while keeping intact our unity in diversity. I believe the Si-Donyi celebration would prove a major catalyst towards achieving this goal.’
He prayed to almighty Si Donyi to bless the state with peace, communal harmony, prosperity, happiness, and good health for all.
