ZIRO, Jan 6: Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Hija won the Sadbhavana Cup football tournament, defeating GSS Hapoli in the final played here on Saturday.
The winner and runner-up teams were presented with trophies, football and cash awards. Each member of the two finalists was also presented with a football jersey. The referee unit was presented with cash reward and track suits.
Eight teams participated in the tournament, organized by the 138 Bn CRPF as part of its annual civic action programme.
Earlier, Commandant of 138 Bn CRPF, Paras Nath, applauded the parents and teachers for promoting sports culture, and appealed to the youngsters to refrain from bad habits like alcohol and drug abuse.
Ziro ADC Needing Chattung lauded the CRPF for conducting civic action programmes as well as playing an active role in maintaining law and order.
Assistant Commandant of 138 Bn CRPF, Abhishek Kumar, also spoke.
