PASIGHAT, 12 May: In an effort to curb spread of Covid-19 disease, the East Siang district administration stressed on strict enforcement of Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP) and on vaccination drives against Covid-19.
According to DMO Dr Kaling Dai, a total of 25,605 vaccines were administered in the district till 11 May evening, out of which the first dose has been administered to 17,202 persons and the second dose has been given to 8,403 persons.
A total of 13 testing centres (TRUE-NAT) and 12 vaccine centres have been set up in the district to encourage people to get tested and vaccinated.
On the other hand, the police and magistrates are strictly enforcing Covid-appropriate behavior since 15 April last.
Stressing on strict enforcement of Covid SOPs, Deputy Commissioner Dr Kinny Singh has issued series of orders and appealed to everyone to observe Covid-19 appropriate behaviour in the entire East Siang district. The DC also warned that anyone without a mask is liable to be fined.
According to orders of the district administration, all shops will remain closed by 4 pm, except shops providing essential and emergency services, like pharmacies, hospitals, animal care centres, etc.
Till further order, there will be a night curfew from 6.30 PM to 5 AM in the district, the order read.
The DC also expressed deep salutations to all the Covid-19 warriors for their fight against the pandemic.
Meanwhile, the district administration has intensified its frequent town broadcasting, radio talks and video clippings through social media to bring awareness on Covid-19.
“The medical fraternity alone cannot fight against unknown enemies like the Coronavirus,” said Joint Director of Health Services (T&R), BPGH, Pasighat, Dr Dukhum Raina while appreciating the people of Pasighat for their fight against the pandemic.
DTO (MV) M Loyi informed that the administration has realized Rs 2, 27, 160 so far from 655 people for violating Covid-appropriate behaviour. (DIPRO)
