AALO, Sep 13: Hundreds in the remote areas of West Siang district were imparted legal awareness as part of a series of legal awareness campaigns conducted by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) at Mechukha, Tato, Karo, Monigong and Namosiba from September 5 to 7 last.
The DLSA team headed by its Member Secretary and Chief Judicial Magistrate, Aalo, Hirendra Kashyap, with advocates Gekar Angu, Kebom Taso and Tashi Pujen imparted awareness about access to justice under the Legal Services Authority, Lok Adalat, plea bargaining, para legal volunteers and Arunachal Pradesh Victim Compensation Scheme, 2011.
Advocate Kebom Taso highlighted about the AFR, 1945, fundamental rights and duties and Motor Vehicle Act, while advocate (Retainer Lawyer), Gekar Angu spoke on Domestic Violence Act, Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences, 2012, Consumer Protection Act and laws related to child marriage, while Tashi Pujen spoke on rights of children.
