ANINI, Jan 16: Following up on the notification (DUD/ACCT-76/2001-02) regarding recovery of civic charges, Dibang Valley Deputy Commissioner Tamune Miso on Tuesday informed the officers concerned that civic charges will henceforth be recovered.
Addressing a meeting with HoDs, GBs, administrative officers and others here, the DC said that, as per the notification (issued in January 2015), the charges are to be recovered from the occupants (including unauthorized occupants) of pucca and semi-pucca government quarters in all the towns of the state that have motorable roads.
He informed, however, that “mere recovery of civic charges shall not be a ground for seeking regularization of unauthorized occupation.”
The DC directed the DUDA to conduct a survey of authorized and unauthorized occupants in the township within a month for recovery of civic charges.
He also directed the STO not to disburse the salaries of government servants without first deducting the civic charges, and asked the DDOs of different departments to deduct civic charges as per the new rates listed under the notification. (DIPRO)
