ITANAGAR, 13 Jul: Governor BD Mishra urged the Rajya Sainik Board (RSB) to reach out to all the ex-servicemen of the state and assist them in matters of their needs.
The governor said this when RSB Director RD Mosabi called on him at the Raj Bhavan here on Tuesday.
While discussing welfare programmes for the ex-servicemen of Arunachal, the governor, who is the chairman of the State Ex-Servicemen Association, advised the director to “reach out to all the ex-servicemen of the state and assist them in matters of their need.”
The governor also said that the RSB “must ensure special care to facilitate all welfare schemes for the veer naris,” and suggested to the director to go on an extensive tour of the state to get in touch with the association’s members.
Mishra emphasized on “pooling of effort of the ex-servicemen for the help of the people in the state during times of need.”
He expressed hope that the board would rise to the expectations of the ex-servicemen and would “harness the expertise of the ex-servicemen, who are disciplined, nationalist, patriotic and well trained for meeting emergent situations to help the general public.”
The governor further suggested to Mosabi to utilize the ex-servicemen’s services in fighting the Covid-19 pandemic and motivating the people to actively follow the Covid-appropriate protocol to keep the society safe from the pandemic.
