KAMBA, 16 Jul: Liromoba MLA Nyamar Karbak on Friday called upon the healthcare workers to ensure that all eligible population of Liromoba assembly constituency in West Siang district are fully vaccinated by October.
He was addressing a training programme for ASHAs and ASHA facilitators on Covid-19 vaccination and contact-tracing here.
Karbak asked the MOs of the health centres and other health officials to inoculate the people with the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine by this month and the second by October to become the first constituency in the state to do so.
In a bid to boost the morale of the healthcare workers, the legislator announced to present cash incentives to all medical officers, nurses and other healthcare workers if they achieve the feat by October.
Karbak expressed concern over vaccine hesitancy among certain age groups, and appealed to them to get inoculated for the safety of all. He appealed to the ASHAs and ASHA facilitators to carry out their responsibilities with dedication and bridge the gap between the people and the health department.
The MLA handed over Rs 5,000 each to 86 ASHAs of his constituency as financial assistance to carry out their duties.
During the programme, West Siang DMO Dr Moli Riba made a presentation on the overall Covid-19 situation in the district.
