ITANAGAR, 20 Jul: As many as 28 persons, including seven children, in remote Pangi village in Siang district tested positive for Covid-19 through rapid antigen tests (RAT) carried out by a medical team from the Yembung PHC on 16 and 17 July.
An elderly person with serious illness was referred to the Covid care centre in Pasighat on Tuesday, informed Yembung PHC MO Dr Kapang Ering.
A member of the medical team also tested positive for the virus.
All the patients have been placed under home isolation, Dr Ering said.
Reportedly, no official from the district headquarters has so far visited the affected village, despite having been informed about the alarming situation. The district administration has notified the entire village as a containment zone.
The medical team will also conduct ‘RAT-cum-Covid-19 vaccination outreach programmes’ at Kebang, Rottung and Babuk-Sissen areas on 21, 22 and 23 July, respectively.
