RONO HILLS, 17 Nov: Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), in collaboration with the National Association of Civil Servants organized an open seminar for IAS aspirants of Arunachal Pradesh, with UPSC 2020 All India Rank (AIR) 1 holder, Shubham Kumar, as part of the week-long celebration of Janjatiya Gaurav Divas at the university’s mini auditorium on 15 November.
Many aspirants joined the celebration via Google meet and Facebook live, apart from the seated audience.
Kumar shared his experiences and his methodology for preparation of the UPSC examinations. He stressed that ‘innovative answers and consistency’ made him top the prestigious UPSC examinations.
He shared many tips with the live audience and also shared sources for preparation. He also said that he wants to mentor a group from the state through a cycle of UPSC preparations.
Later, students presented their queries to the speaker.
APSSB Secretary Santosh Kumar Rai, who initiated the programme, also interacted with the students and shared his experiences. He asked the students to take inspiration from the seminar and assured that he would collaborate with the RGU to conduct more such seminars for various subjects.
RGU Vice Chancellor Prof Saket Kushwaha assured that the university will extend all kind of support to the students. He requested the speakers to donate study notes and other collected materials to the university so that the university can make it accessible to more students.
“Accessibility for all is the essence of education,” he said.
Registrar Dr NT Rikam assured the revival of coaching classes in his closing remarks. RGU Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Amitav Mitra also shared his views.
The 15th of November was declared as Janjatiya Gaurav Divas by the Union Cabinet to commemorate the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, an Indian tribal freedom fighter, who spearheaded a tribal religious millenarian movement that arose in the Bengal Presidency (now Jharkhand), during the British Raj, thereby making him an important figure in the history of the Indian independence movement.
