ITANAGAR, 15 Dec: Union minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw said that the final location survey of Bhalukpong to Tawang, Silapathar to Bame and Pasighat to Rupai railway projects are in full swing.
“The projects are very important as it has strategic importance because they connect the border areas,” the union minister said while replying to a question from MP Tapir Gao on survey and investigation of the three railway projects being carried out by the NF Railways during the question hour in Lok Sabha on Wednesday.
The union minister said his ministry is in constant touch with Chief Minister Pema Khandu on matters related to these railway projects.
“He (Khandu) helped us whenever and wherever we needed it, especially in acquisition of land,” Vaishnaw said, and thanked the chief minister for his help and cooperation.
The union minister said that he will provide the complete progress report of these three railway projects to the MP from Arunachal.
The three railway lines-Bhalukpong-Tenga-Tawang (378 km), North Lakhimpur- Bame-Aalo-Silapathar (247.85 km) and the Pasighat-Tezu-Parasuram Kund-Rupai (227 km) were announced by then MoS for railways Manoj Sinha and then MoS for home Kiren Rijiju at Naharlagun Railway Station in 2017.
