BOMDILA, Sep 15: Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Friday assured the members of Sartang community to make every possible effort for recognition and inclusion of Sartang Tribes in the Schedule Tribe (ST) list of the Union.
‘I will do everything possible within my capacity to ensure that the Sartang Tribe finds its rightful place in the Schedule Tribe’s list of the Union,’ the Union Minister said while attending the last day celebration of the Tang festival of the Sartangs at Jerigaon, West Kameng district.
Sartang tribe is among the six indigenous tribes of West Kameng district.
Kiren also assured to recommend the creation of a Circle Officer’s post at Sartang area for administration convenience.
He was accompanied by Speaker Legislative Assembly TN Thongdok and MLA and Principal Advisor to Chief Minister Japu Deru. DIPRO
