SAGALEE, 18 Dec: Papum Pare won 24 gold, 8 silver and 20 bronze medals to emerge overall champion in the 25th State Level Taekwondo Championship, which was organized here from 11 to 14 January.
Sangay Lhaden Sports Academy (SLSA) bagged 21 gold, 13 silver and 15 bronze medals to finish as runner-up.
Altogether 330 players from 18 districts and teams from the Sports Authority of India’s Special Area Game Centre in Naharlagun and SLSA in Chimpu participated in the championship.
Local MLA Nabam Tuki and former ASM Techi Kaha attended the closing ceremony and presented the medals to the winners.
The inaugural programme was attended by Sports Authority of Arunachal (SAA) Chairman Byabang Taj and SAA Director Gumniya Karbak.
The Arunachal Taekwondo Association organized the event, in collaboration with the Papum Pare District Taekwondo Association.
