ITANAGAR, 12 Mar: Along with Governor BD Mishra, a number of employees of the Raj Bhavan here have taken the pledge to donate their organs to needy people.
The governor, who signed an undertaking with Guwahati (Assam)-based Zublee Foundation recently, urged the people to come forward and donate their organs.
He said that “there is an urgent need to generate awareness among the people regarding organ donation and its importance.”
The governor has spoken to Chief Minister Pema Khandu on the issue of adopting the Transplantation of Human Organs Act, 2011 Regulation, amended in 2014, “to facilitate deceased organ donations and transplantation as an alternative option for the people of Arunachal.”
The chief minister has reportedly assured the governor of “necessary provisions under the Act in the state assembly session to facilitate organ donation.” (Raj Bhavan)
