AALO, 6 Jun: Issues pertaining to the Tato-Mechukha road were discussed by West Siang Deputy Commissioner Mito Dirchi, Shi-Yomi DLRSO Takam Titus and officers of the 44 HQ BRTF during a meeting held here on 5 June.
The participants discussed ways and means to improve the road for commuters against the backdrop of massive formation cutting by the contractors during this monsoon.
The matter of acquiring land for the construction of the double-lane road from Pene village to Tato was also discussed. The DC reiterated that the “public notice for claims and objection in this regard has been issued and placed under the public domain at Tato and made known to all those residing outside of the district through newspaper and electronic media.”
He said that the structures which have been constructed on both sides of the Pene-Tato road for the sole purpose of claiming compensation have not been assessed and not included in the cost estimation forwarded to the state government and the BRTF authorities.
“The aggrieved persons could, however, go to the court of law for redressed of their grievances, if any,” he added. (DIPRO)
