NIRJULI, 7 Jul: The Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) cell of the NERIST here organised a regional level online workshop on ‘Tech4Seva’ on Thursday.
“The programme was aimed at providing a platform for technology demonstration at the regional level,” the institute said in a press release, adding that 66 resource persons took part in the workshop “and a total of four technologies were demonstrated.”
During the workshop, Silchar-based Assam University Vice Chancellor Prof RM Pant asked the participants to “involve themselves in rural development by help of technology.”
NERIST Director (in-charge) Prof OP Roy highlighted the activities related to rural development underway in the NERIST.
Kimin-based CoE for Bioresources and Sustainable Development Project Director Dr D Mahanta also spoke.
Experts from the College of Agriculture, Indore (MP), Dr ML Jadav from the School of Energy Science and Engineering, IIT Guwahati, and Dr P Kalita spoke on “the importance of rural need-based technology.”
