ITANAGAR, 10 Feb: Daporijo (Upper Subansiri)-based Ningtemuri Multipurpose Cooperative Society (MPCS) on Friday donated an ambulance for the people of Kurung Kumey district, in the presence of Home Minister Bamang Felix, Taliha MLA Nyato Dukam, and others.
Welcoming the initiative of the cooperative society’s chairman Hora Bagbi, Felix said that “such inspiring gesture will go a long way in further strengthening the bonhomie between different tribes of Arunachal Pradesh.”
“Today’s event is not about donating an ambulance. It is about the compassion that our tribal societies have for each other. A fresh start towards expressing this compassion has been made today, which is very encouraging, and I hope it will inspire all,” the minister said.
Felix informed that the donated ambulance will be dedicated to the people of Kurung Kumey by the Taliha MLA during his proposed visit to Nyapin on 23 February.
Meanwhile, Bagbi informed that his society wants to donate an ambulance each to every district over the course of years.
While an ambulance had been dedicated to Upper Subansiri district in 2018, the society has donated an ambulance to Shi-Yomi district last year in November. An ambulance for Papum Pare district will be donated shortly, he added. (HM’s PR Cell)
