AALO, Mar 20: Tax and Excise and Tourism Minister Jarkar Gamlin exhorted the government officers to implement the flagship programmes and policies in an effective manner in West Siang district.
The minister was interacting with the government officers of the district in a meeting held at the DC’s office here on Tuesday.
Highlighting the government flagship programmes and policies, which were discussed in the recent budget session, Gamlin said ‘these programmes stand as a challenge before the government for completion before March 2019.’
Many schemes under the education and health sectors have been decentralized to ensure its effective implementation in the district level, the minister said and asked the executing departments to complete the need based schemes within given time for welfare of the people.
It was informed in the meeting that the highway works are being tendered and repairing works on worst stretches of road portion will be taken up soon. The honorarium of head gaon burahs and SSA teachers have been hiked, while purchase of furniture, sports items, uniforms, laboratory equipment for the Education department has been decentralized and appointments of group C and D staffs meant for the district will also be decentralized to suit the needs of the districts
West Siang Deputy Commissioner Swetika Sachan also stressed on working as a team to fulfil the people-centric programmes and schemes of the government on time.
Government officers also shared their problems and gave suggestions. (DIPRO)
