Training-cum-input distribution prog

ZEDUA, 25 Oct: A training-cum-input distribution programme under the frontline demonstration (FLD) on oilseeds (Toria var TS-67) and pulse (pea var VL Sabji Matar-13) was organized by a Longding KVK team led by KVK Head (i/c) A Kirankumar Singh here in Longding district on Friday.

Singh in his address spoke on FLDs of the KVK through which the farmers are benefitted with the best and proven technology suitable for the district in terms of production to improve the livelihood of the farmers. He also spoke about the methods of proper land preparation, method of sowing, time of sowing, spacing to be maintained, weed management, irrigation schedule and plant protection measures of oilseeds (Toria) and pea.

He further dwelt on cultivation of potato and rabi maize.

During his interaction with the farmers, Singh emphasized on “seed replacement with high yielding improved varieties of different reputed research institutes with good taste and flavour for the improvement of livelihood of the farmers.”

Later, he distributed seeds of Toria var TS-67 and garden pea var VL Sabji Matar-13 among the participants.

Public leader of Zedua village Panlem Wangpan and Longding District Kisan Morcha secretary Noksey Wangnow also attended the programme.
