ITANAGAR, Sep 20: Protesting over the alleged non-fulfilment of its demands, the Mere Vichaar Andolan Committee (MVAC) announced a 12-hour Capital Complex bandh on September 25 next.
In a press conference here on Wednesday, MVAC Spokesperson Tarh Atung stated that the Committee has knocked all possible doors, right from the state to the national level for justice to late Pul, but failed to yield results.
“The bandh is our last option. We have to resort to the bandh to get justice for the late Chief Minister”, the MVAC Spokesperson said.
The demands of the MVAC include institution of an inquiry committee to re-investigate the 60-page note titled, ‘Mere Vichaar’ of late Chief Minister Kalikho Pul and resignation of Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein and Government Spokesperson Passang Dorjee Sona, as their names were reflected in the dairy for alleged involvement in corruption.
Also blaming Union Minister of State for Home, Kiren Rijiju for the Centre’s clearance on the Supreme Court directives to grant citizenship to Chakma and Hajong refugees, MVAC Convenor Kaling Tasing stated that the MoS must tender apology to the people of Arunachal Pradesh for his alleged negligence on the issue.
It also opposed the Tibetan Rehabilitation Policy and creation of 100 Bhoti language teachers’ posts.
Meanwhile, Under Secretary President’s Secretariat of the Rashtrapati Bhawan, SNS Prakash has forwarded the petition submitted by Dangwimsai Pul, wife of former Chief Minister late Kalikho Pul, to the Department of Justice, Government of India.
She had submitted a petition to President Ram Nath Kovind, seeking justice for her late husband and sought thorough investigation into the revelation made in the Mere Vichar note.
