GoAP should use DGP Robin Hibu’s experience to improve policing in Arunachal

The news of the first Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the state, Robin Hibu, being promoted as director general of police (DGP) is truly inspiring. Hibu’s life story is that of rags to riches. Hailing from remote Hong village in Lower Subansiri district, he studied at the village school. Despite coming from a humble family, he never gave up and first cleared the state civil service examination. In 1993, he cracked the UPSC and became an IPS officer under the AGMUT cadre. He has served the state and the nation in various capacities since then.
Now that he has been promoted to the rank of DGP, the state government should use his service in the interest of the state. Very rarely do indigenous tribal officers qualify for such a position. Besides being the first IPS officer of the state, he is a decorated police official who has numerous awards for his outstanding service to the nation. His posting in the state and his interaction with the youths can inspire the younger generation. The state government should use his vast experience of working in the Delhi Police to improve policing in the state.
