ZIRO, 8 Aug: The Lower Subansiri district administration on Friday organised a ‘refresher training programme’ for gaon buras, gaon buris, head gaon buras, and head gaon buris at the Abotani Hall here.
The programme aimed to enhance their knowledge and capacity in effectively discharging their traditional and statutory duties.
SDO Rani Perme described the objectives of the training, and lauded the contributions of the GBs and the HGBs as vital links between the government and the grassroots, urging them to uphold their role with dedication, integrity, and impartiality.
Resource persons from the district administration and the District Legal Services Authority, besides Ziro PS OC Inspector Millo Lalyan and advocate Duyu Chada conducted informative sessions on topics including law and order, village administration, legal awareness, dispute resolution, and welfare schemes.
The programme also provided the participants with an opportunity to seek clarifications and share field-level experiences, further strengthening coordination between the administration and traditional village authorities. (DIPRO)
