SIIRO, 15 Jan: Seventy farmers participated in a training-cum-demonstration programme on natural farming conducted here by the Lower Subansiri Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) on Thursday, in collaboration with the district agriculture office.
During the programme, soil science expert Dr Pema Khandu Goiba demonstrated the preparation of important natural farming inputs such as Jeeva Amrit, Neem Astra, and Beejamrit. The training aimed also to enhance the technical knowledge and practical skills of cluster resource persons to promote sustainable and eco-friendly farming practices in the district.
Agriculture extension scientist Dr Hage Manty and animal science programme assistant Dr Joram Tatam also participated in the programme and gained hands-on experience in preparing natural bio-inputs.
The programme emphasised reducing dependency on chemical fertilisers and encouraging organic and natural farming methods for improved soil health, crop productivity, and sustainability.
