I would like to draw the attention of the authorities concerned and the general public to a devastating fire incident that occurred on Sunday morning at approximately 6 am near Upper C Sector, Itanagar.
The tragic incident resulted in the complete destruction of two residential houses. Along with the houses, valuable traditional ornaments and belongings were lost, including costly swords, such as dao, talu, tasing, bellang, saing, gold and silver ornaments, junghang, two new scooters, five gas cylinders, and all essential household materials. The affected families have suffered immense loss and have been left without shelter, basic necessities, and electricity due to a short circuit suspected to be the cause of the fire.
After visiting the site and interacting with the victim family members and nearby residents, I witnessed the severity of the damage. The incident has deeply affected the livelihood and survival of the families, including students and a widow who are now in urgent need of assistance.
I request your good office to publish this appeal in your newspaper, so that senior citizens, associations, unions, departments concerned, elected representatives, and socially responsible individuals may come forward to extend support and assistance to the affected families.
