ITANAGAR, 14 May: Veer nari Koiman Wangpan, widow of late Sepoy Agoi Wangsa, Shaurya Chakra (posthumous), called Governor KT Parnaik at the Lok Bhavan here on Thursday.
During the visit, the governor enquired about the wellbeing of her family and appreciated her courage, resilience, and strength in the face of adversity.
Describing her as an inspiration for society, the governor encouraged Wangpan to move forward with confidence and dignity. He said that her determination and spirit reflect the true values of sacrifice and patriotism. He advised her to actively participate in community service, women empowerment initiatives, and youth guidance programmes, so that her journey may motivate many others.
The governor also emphasised the importance of education, skill development, self-reliance, and the welfare of her children. He encouraged her to make full use of welfare schemes and support systems available for veer naris to build a secure and empowered future for her families.
Wangpan shared her aspirations and challenges during the interaction, and sought the governor’s guidance and support.
Koiman Wangpan apprised the governor of the non-receipt of emoluments due to her from the state. She was assured of the necessary help through the Rajya Sainik Board.
It may be recalled that the governor had virtually inaugurated the war memorial in honour of Lance Naik Agoi Wangsa, Shaurya Chakra (posthumous) in Longding on 20 April, 2025. (Lok Bhavan)
