LUMLA, Aug 1: The Lumla administration under Tawang district has installed CCTV cameras here in the government higher secondary school.
Six cameras have been installed in the classrooms to monitor the classes, while one camera each has been put up at the teachers’ building and assembly ground to keep an eye on the students and their activities.
The administration has also provided two sets of LED televisions for the boys and girls hostel.
Further, monthly tests for the students from class 9 to 12 on the covered syllabus have also been put in practice to analyze their knowledge and grasp on the subjects.
A team of heads of departments, consisting of Lumla ADC, PWD executive engineer, PHED assistant engineer, and RWD assistant engineer power and assistant engineer have also voluntarily contributed and appointed two cooks at the salary of Rs 8000 per month for a term of one year.
“All efforts are being made by team Lumla under the leadership of local MLA Jambey Tashi and ADC RD Thungon to lift the encumbrance of the school and students with hopes of better academic performances from them in return”, said school management committee vice chairman Sonam Topgey.
