ROING, Aug 18: Field functionaries and heads of various departments on Saturday received hands-on training here on satellite-based monitoring and geo-tagging of developmental projects.
Addressing the trainees, Lower Dibang Valley Deputy Commissioner Mitali Namchoom said geo-tagging has been made compulsory for BADP and other centrally-sponsored schemes and will also be used to monitor all other state-sponsored schemes later on.
She advised the participants to take the training seriously and implement the methods learnt to ensure effective monitoring.
Among those who attended the training were Planning & Investment Director (Monitoring) Mokir Ori, HoDs, administrative officers of subdivisions and administrative circles, and field functionaries of government departments.
The training was conducted by the monitoring cell of the planning department, in collaboration with the State Remote Sensing Application Centre (SRSAC), and featured training on Dashboard, MIS and mobile application, besides field visits for geo-tagging.
In Yingkiong, government officials participated in a similar workshop organized by the planning department in collaboration with the SRSAC.
An SRSAC team led by technical consultant Timothy Nima explained the modules of mobile application and web-portal Dashboard. They also gave a practical demonstration on the use of satellite-based technology.
Upper Siang Deputy Commissioner Duly Kamduk urged the participants to learn from the programme for better monitoring of projects.
Among others, Research Officer Tapo Yorung, District Planning Officer Talut Tatak, and district level officers and officials from various departments attended the training programme. (DIPROs)
