WAKKA, Aug 18: Hundreds benefited from the state government’s ‘Prashashan aapke dwar (government at your doorstep)’ programme conducted here by the Longding district administration on Saturday.
Besides issuing of documents like ST, PRC, birth and income certificates, Aadhaar, enrollments were done and a health check-up camp conducted. Application forms for old age, widow and disabled pensions were issued.
The power department realized Rs 3,700 as electric bill from five persons. The public health engineering department also carried out a revenue collection drive, and issued new connection forms to 13 households. Awareness programmes on Swacch Sarvekshan Gramin were also conducted.
The SBI received 19 filled-up application forms for opening bank accounts, and six for ATM cards. Six ration cards were processed by the department concerned.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Wakka CO Longhee Naam.
Longding DC VS Mallik said similar programmes would be held at Nginu village on 27 and 28 August for Longchan block, and advised the villagers to avail the opportunity. He urged church and public leaders as well as local bodies to sensitize the public to the programme. (DIPRO)
