ANGKALING, Aug 22: Hundreds of people from over 20 villages under Kalaktang administrative circle of West Kameng district thronged Angkaling (Bordering Bhutan) to avail the services offered by the district administration, government departments and agencies under the ‘Sarkar Aapke Dwar (govt at your door step)’ initiative.
As many as 202 birth certificates, 154 PRCs, 85 STCs, 18 ILPs and 13 income certificates were issued during the second phase of the programme.
A medical camp was also organized, wherein more than 148 patients were treated. In all, 20 gynaecological patients out of the 82 availed the on-the-spot ultra sound facility.
Deputy Commissioner Sonal Swaroop distributed LPG cylinders and stoves to nine beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.
SBI Kalaktang succeeded in opening 32 new bank accounts and 25 insurance schemes, while the ICDS enrolled 24 persons for old age pension, five for disability pension, two for widow pension and three for PMMVY.
The election office demonstrated the workings of the EVMs and the VVPATs.
Various other departments like PHED & WS, Forest, APEDA, Power, AH & Vety, Tourism, Disaster Management, Horticulture, Agriculture, Aadhaar card counter etc catered to the needs and queries of the people.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Swaroop urged the border area people to avail maximum benefit from the programme, saying that “Sarkar Aapke Dwar is a unique effort of the state government to reach out to the people through the district administration and the various state and central departments in the district by providing the required services at their doorstep and disseminating information on the various welfare schemes, policies and programmes of the government”.
Among others, ADC Kalaktang, ADC Rupa, HODs, CO Kalaktang and gaon burahs put in their best efforts to make the programme meaningful and beneficial for the people. (DIPRO)
