ITANAGAR, Sep 18: The digital payment system under the Itanagar Municipal Council (IMC) and the PoS system of the civil aviation department were launched here on Monday.
“The citizens can now make their payments for trading licence, birth and death certificates, etc, through the point-of-sale (PoS) system, BHIM App, BHIM QR, and Aadhar Pay,” Capital Complex Deputy Commissioner Prince Dhawan said after inaugurating the digital payment system at the IMC.
The DC expressed hope that with the introduction of the cashless mode of transaction, the citizens would now be benefited in terms of saving time for cash payment.
“Moreover, the system will also ensure transparency and accountability,” he said.
He said the capital administration would promote this high-tech practice to ensure transparent, timely and error-free transactions even in payment of water and electricity charges.
While inaugurating the PoS machine at the ticket counter of the civil aviation department, the DC lauded the initiative taken by the department and urged it to adopt various other digital payment options such as BHIM QR Code, Aadhar Pay, UPI, and online booking.
A demonstration on helicopter ticket booking by swiping the debit card on the PoS machine was also presented.
Among others, the Civil Aviation Director T Messar and Itanagar EAC Hengo Basar were present at the function. (DIPRO)
