‘Cancel order for shifting nursing school’

ITANAGAR, Sep 18: Claiming that the directorate of medical education (training & research) issued an order on 28 August for withdrawal/shifting of the GNM nursing school from the district hospital in Daporijo, the Tagin Welfare Society, Itanagar (TWSI) has requested the state government to cancel the order at the earliest in the greater interest of the people of Upper Subansiri district.
In a letter to the health & family welfare minister on Tuesday, the TWSI said the nursing school was established by the state government with the approval of the Indian Nursing Council in 2016, and that the school “is running smoothly with proper infrastructure without having any academic crisis since its inception.”
Expressing surprise over the order for withdrawal or shifting of the nursing school “without showing an reasonable ground,” the TWS said failure on the part of the state government to cancel the withdrawal order “may invite democratic movement of the public.”
