NAHARLAGUN, Sep 25: Bamang Taji FC (BTFC) and Arunachal Pradesh Police (APP) won their respective group level matches in the Eagle Football Championship on Tuesday to join Capital Complex, Todo United and Model FC in the quarterfinals.
BTFC downed Sagalee FC 4-2 in a keenly contested match that kept the audience on the edge of their seats till the end at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium here.
The match was almost evenly poised until the 76th minute, when Kayo Lampang netted the fourth goal for his side BTFC.
Thanks to a ‘mistake’ by the goalkeeper, the Sagalee team conceded a bizarre self-goal in the ninth minute, which cost the team dearly.
